In high school, founder Jack McCarthy turned a single thrifted "ugly" Christmas sweater into a basement-powered e‑commerce boom—with thousands sold, hundreds of thousands of site visits, and coverage from CNN, The New York Times, and more.
Building Reuse Thrift ♻️
After college, Jack left the ugly-sweater frenzy behind—only to dive headfirst into reselling again. He launched Reuse Thrift, focusing on pre-owned mens clothing on eBay. What began as a side hustle bloomed fast into over 33,000 items sold and more than $1.5 million in revenue. Outgrowing the basement, Reuse Thrift made home in a 4,000 sq ft warehouse.
Flipping on the Road 🚐
Jack took his reselling hustle to the next level, filling cargo vans with treasure-hunts from thrift stores across the country—eventually scaling to buying and selling over 1,500 items every month. To handle this growing volume, Jack began developing software solutions, streamlining every step of listing and crosslisting. That passion evolved into FlipperTools Crosslisting, powerful software designed to help resellers everywhere manage their listings seamlessly and scale their own flipping journeys.
