eBay Fee Calculator
Use this calculator to determine your eBay selling fees on any item. eBay charges a tiered Final Value Fee (FVF) on the total amount of the sale (item price + shipping + sales tax), plus a per-order fee. Fees vary by category and store subscription level. This calculator applies to πΊπΈ US eBay only.
How it works: eBay charges a tiered Final Value Fee on the total amount of sale (item + shipping + tax). Different categories have different rates. A per-order fee of $0.30 (orders β€$10) or $0.40 (orders >$10) is also applied.

Understanding eBay Fees
eBay has two main selling fees:
- Final Value Fee (FVF): A tiered percentage fee charged on the total amount of the sale. Most categories have a 13.6% FVF (non-store) or 12.7% FVF (store). Some categories like jewelry, watches, and athletic shoes have different rates.
- Per-Order Fee: A flat fee per transaction. Currently $0.30 on orders $10 or under, and $0.40 on orders over $10. Some categories waive this fee at certain price thresholds (e.g., athletic shoes at $150+).
Optional Surcharges
In addition to the base fees, eBay may charge surcharges if your account meets certain conditions:
- International Fee: +1.65% of the total amount of sale for international orders
- Account Performance Fees: If your account drops below eBay's standards, you may face an additional +6% fee (Below Standard) or +5% fee (Very High INAD Rate)
Store Subscription Discounts
If you have a Basic Store or higher subscription, you get reduced Final Value Fees on most categories:
- No Store / Starter Store: 13.6% FVF (most categories)
- Basic Store or above: 12.7% FVF (most categories)
Some categories offer even deeper discounts with a store subscription. See the calculator above for category-specific rates.
Top Rated Plus Sale (-10% FVF Discount)
Eligible Top Rated Sellers can receive a 10% discount on Final Value Fees when their listings meet specific requirements. This program is called Top Rated Plus Sale.
To qualify for the 10% FVF discount, you must:
- Maintain Top Rated Seller status by meeting eBay's detailed seller ratings and other performance metrics
- Set handling time to same business day or 1 business day for your listings
- Offer a return period of 30 days or longer
- Provide free return shipping for buyers
Use the calculator above and select "Top Rated Plus Sale" from the Seller Level dropdown to see how much you can save on eBay fees with this program. The 10% discount applies directly to your Final Value Fees on eligible sales.
How Sales Tax is Calculated
eBay fees apply to the total amount of the sale, which includes:
- Item price
- Shipping charged to the buyer
- Sales tax (calculated based on buyer location)
The default tax rate is 8.5% (a typical combined state and local rate), but you can adjust it in the calculator if you know your buyer's location.
Important Note
This calculator covers the most common eBay selling fees. However, eBay has many category-specific exceptions and special rules. Always confirm current rates on eBay's official selling fees page and store selling fees page.
